Valley Forge Engagement Session | Katie & Greg’s Love Story

Engagement

MUSINGS NOTED About:

Katie & Greg’s Valley Forge Engagement Session

Cue the golden hour glow, the quiet murmur of rustling leaves, and two people utterly in love. Katie and Greg’s engagement session at Valley Forge National Historical Park took place on a serene, slightly overcast evening when the park seemed to hold its breath just for them. With clouds threatening rain for an evening rain, it felt like nature decided to reward this adventurous pair with the perfect setting for their photos.

And can we just say? These two weren’t just taking photos; they were on a mission to have a fabulous date night with a bit of engagement session to kick it off. From their big laughs to their shared dreams of sipping wine in a small french vineyard to perhaps a safari, this Valley Forge engagement session was as rich and captivating as their love story itself.

A Tale of Two Matches (on Hinge!)

If Katie and Greg’s story doesn’t make you believe in second chances, we’re not sure what will. Their love story began on Hinge (not once, but twice!). Their first match in 2020 fizzled when a certain global pandemic brought everything to a standstill. Fast-forward to 2022, and the universe gave them another shot. By then, they’d unknowingly moved to the same neighborhood in Fishtown. Talk about destiny putting in the work!

They finally had their chance to connect in person on March 2022, at Source Urban Brewery, and their chemistry was undeniable. A shared love for good beer and better conversation created the kind of first date that makes you think, “this might be it.” Two years later, Greg made it official with a heartfelt proposal in the Catskills during a cozy cabin getaway. Their pup Schenley (an adorable husky-shepherd mix) served as not-so-secret witness, and we’re pretty sure Schenley approved!

Adventure Runs in Their Blood

You can tell a lot about people by the way they talk about the world. With Katie and Greg, their excitement for adventure is just as contagious as their love. During the session, they chatted about their dream honeymoon and how they can’t wait to travel as a married couple. Iceland, with its stunning landscapes and epic ring road, is an adventure they’ve already checked off their travel list. Oh, and they also shared stories about past escapades that felt like turning pages in the most exciting travel memoir.

Their adventurous spirit shone throughout the session, too. Whether it was exploring tucked-away corners of Valley Forge, laughing under a gray-tinted sky, or finding magic in places often overlooked, Katie and Greg made every moment an adventure.

A Tranquil Evening at Valley Forge

Valley Forge National Historical Park, known for its serenity and picturesque landscapes, became the perfect backdrop for this love story. The slightly overcast sky wrapped the park in a soft, diffused glow, while the looming rain clouds kept the crowds away. With the park feeling almost entirely theirs, Katie and Greg seemed to float through the pathways and historic scenery, fully immersed in their love for each other.

Throughout the evening, they were unmistakably themselves. They shared laughs about their dog Schenley’s quirky antics, reminisced about their first meeting, and even had a good-natured debate about their favorite corner of Philadelphia. Their easygoing connection made our job as photographers an absolute joy.

Favorite Moments to Treasure

Now, here’s where it gets tricky. Picking favorite moments from this session is like trying to choose a favorite dessert in a bakery full of options. But we’re up for the challenge!

  • Jen’s Favorite Moment: There’s a tucked-away little hill on the outskirts of the park with a tiny, whimsical door nestled into the side. When Katie and Greg posed here, the moment felt straight out of a fairytale. They forgot the camera was there, enjoying a private laugh that radiated pure joy. Those images? Absolute magic. The little moments they shared in front of that door are portraits of what love feels like.
  • Travis’s Favorite Moments: Not one, but two moments stood out. First, the couple’s quiet pose on a wooden bridge framed by nature in all its glory. The lush green trees, the dreamy bokeh, and a sense of timelessness gave the image a fantasy-like quality. Second, a black-and-white shot on a different bridge where simplicity stole the show. Katie’s smile lit up the frame and drew every ounce of attention. It’s elegant, classic, and the kind of photo that deserves prime real estate on her desk or their future mantelpiece.

The Countdown to Their Big Day Begins

We’re already counting down the days until Katie and Greg’s wedding at the Phoenixville Foundry on October 10, 2025. This venue, a stunning blend of industrial chic and timeless elegance, will be the perfect setting for their “fun, stress-free, and cool-classy” celebration. Picture crisp autumn air, vibrant fall colors, and a dance floor buzzing with energy from their loved ones.
